You gain access to fantastic social events where you can meet like-minded young Queenslanders, as well as rub shoulders with our nation’s political and community leaders.
From networking drinks, to policy forums and the Annual Young LNP Convention and Gala Ball, there is something for everyone in the Young LNP.
Campaigning and Policy Advocacy
The Young LNP is focused on developing forward thinking policies and taking the fight up to Labor and the Greens come election time. Our key job is to fight and win election campaigns for the LNP, so that we can implement our values.
On the policy front, members have the opportunity to refine their public speaking abilities in our internal policy debates, against Young Labor in Mock Parliament, or in the Annual Sir James Killen Public Speaking Competition. There are also many opportunities to strengthen your advocacy, communications and community relations skills by getting involved with roles on our campaigns.
Member Development and Professional Opportunities
Getting involved with the Young LNP is a fantastic way to develop your skills and expand your professional horizons. From our development programs, internship and work experience opportunities, and the connections you make along the way - joining the YLNP can be a great move to kickstart a career in the public as well as private sector.
Young LNP members enjoy access to opportunities to work with parliamentarians and gain useful skills in the policy and communications space.
While many Young LNP alumni have gone on to reach elected office at all levels of government, others have used their networks and skills to attain high level positions in legal, professional services, government, and community organisations.
